Job Title: Tax Senior - Federal / Corporate Tax
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Senior Consultant within the Business Tax Services group, the candidate will be an essential part of tax engagement teams, offering and assisting with a variety of tax services pertinent to both public and private companies. These services include tax compliance, tax planning, tax controversy, and tax research. The specific responsibilities include:
- Performing detailed technical reviews of partnership, corporate, and individual federal tax returns, as well as reviewing all related work papers.
- Coordinating with the client’s tax and finance departments to gather data for tax planning and compliance.
- Conducting detailed reviews of income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
- Researching federal tax legislation to understand its impact on compliance and consulting.
- Assisting with various tax consulting projects, including research and writing projects related to federal tax planning, restructuring, controversy, and accounting for income taxes.
- Managing engagement workflows and supervising tax consultants and interns on assigned engagements.
Education and Experience Information:
Required qualifications for the Tax Senior position include:
- The ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires . Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 – 3 days per week.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work performed and the clients and industries/sectors served.
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Over 3 years of experience in federal taxation.
- Experience in the preparation and review of federal tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
- One of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain:
- Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed Attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- Certifications such as Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
Preferred qualifications include:
- An advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Experience working in a virtual and/or global environment.
- A passion for leveraging technology and exploring new technology solutions.
- Experience with accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC740.
- Previous experience with a Big 4 or large CPA firm.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Salary Information:
The wage range for the Tax Senior position considers a wide array of factors that influence compensation decisions, including skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate is $66,570 to $151,580, which has not been adjusted for the geographic differential associated with the position's location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. Additionally, candidates may be eligible to partake in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to program rules, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
