Job Title: Head of Construction Defect Claims

Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee a large team responsible for managing all aspects of construction defect claims, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely resolution of highly complex and severe liability claims.
- Develop and enhance the performance of the Construction Defect (CD) Claim teams, creating opportunities for team members to grow and acquire new skills.
- Monitor team performance to identify and analyze problematic trends, determine root cause problems, and recommend solutions to operational leadership.
- Advocate for a culture of process efficiency and continuous improvement in the completion of work.
- Foster a highly effective and engaged employee culture by selecting top talent, providing continuous coaching, recognizing employees, and holding others accountable for team development.
- Promote claims customer service excellence by understanding and exceeding stakeholders' expectations.
- Identify changes in claim best practices and workflows to drive high-quality outcomes and develop training solutions to embed and sustain these practices within the organization.
- Collaborate with IT counterparts to support the execution of changes in technology that enhance claim practices and workflows.
- Utilize data and analytics to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal and external business partners to ensure profitable growth.
- Develop coverage acumen and ensure proactive management of litigation by the team.

Education and Experience Information:
- Significant experience in claims leadership roles within the insurance industry, with substantial experience in Construction Defect claim management.
- Possess multi-jurisdictional expertise.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- An advanced degree, such as a Juris Doctor (.), is preferred.
- Ability to manage a diverse group of claims teams located in multiple locations.
- Directly manage and guide a team of Managers responsible for overseeing all aspects of claims handling.
- Regular participation in claims roundtable discussions focusing on issues related to coverage, liability, and damage assessment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present to senior leadership.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including planning, organizing, delegating, and developing direct reports.
- Ability to persuade and influence people through superior written and oral communications.
- Possess emotional intelligence and self-awareness.
- Embrace changes and invite feedback related to performance, dealing constructively with criticism.
