A law firm seeks a dynamic, mid-level Business Litigation Associate to join its thriving litigation team in Tysons Corner, VA. This firm handles high-stakes business disputes across a variety of industries and is looking for a motivated attorney with courtroom experience and a passion for complex litigation. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work on challenging matters in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Duties:

  • Manage and litigate complex business disputes from inception through resolution.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and legal briefs while preparing for hearings and trials.
  • Represent clients in court, including managing depositions, witness preparation, and trial presentations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and execution.
  • Handle matters related to mechanics liens and other specific business litigation concerns.
  • Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals on case-related tasks.
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships while providing strategic legal advice.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in business litigation or complex commercial disputes.
  • Strong courtroom and trial experience, including handling depositions and hearings.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in mechanics liens or clerking.
  • Licensed to practice in Virginia; additional licensure in Maryland and/or . is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced litigation environment.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent academic background.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice in Virginia, with eligibility to practice immediately. Maryland and . licensure is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and drafting abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex cases and deadlines.
  • Skilled at client communication and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
