Job Title: Tax Managing Director, Alternative Investments
Job Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance:
- Ensure clients comply with applicable authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens, aligning with company policies, standards, and the Tax Quality Manual (TQM).
- Understand client-specific circumstances, documentation, and legal requirements to prepare necessary filings (tax returns), ensuring full compliance and minimized tax burdens.
- Collect data required for filing, identify missing items, and communicate effectively to prepare returns.
- Utilize company's compliance software to enhance efficiency in tax preparation.
- Collaborate effectively with Principals, Senior Managers, Managers, Tax Seniors, and Associates to complete projects, including follow-ups on open items.
- Deliver high-quality federal, state, and international tax compliance services.
- Lead complex engagements with a team of tax professionals.
- Manage engagements, including billing, collections, and project budgets.
- Build and manage client relationships, assist in developing new clients and opportunities.
- Document client work and conclusions in the client tax file.
Tax Consulting:
- Identify, develop, recommend, and implement efficient and effective tax strategies.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manage teams of Senior Managers, Managers, Tax Seniors, and Associates.
Education and Experience Information:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics required.
- Master’s Degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred.
Experience:
- Ten or more years of relevant tax experience and/or experience in public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services required.
- Preferred experience in financial services industry supporting Alternative Investment funds, including Venture Capital, Private Equity, Real Estate, and Hedge Funds.
- Proficiency in the taxation of partnerships preferred.
License/Certifications:
- CPA or Licensed Attorney, or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent required.
- CFP or Masters in Tax preferred.
Software:
- Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), and Adobe Acrobat preferred.
- Experience with tax research databases preferred.
- Proficiency in tax compliance process software preferred.
