A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its dynamic litigation team in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This full-time role offers a great opportunity for a motivated attorney with 3 to 5 years of civil litigation experience, ideally in insurance defense. The successful candidate will play an essential role in managing a variety of cases, from pretrial to trial, while gaining valuable experience in a collaborative and client-focused environment.

Duties

  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support motions, briefs, and other legal filings.
  • Prepare for trial, including managing case files, evidence, and witness preparation.
  • Attend and represent clients in hearings, depositions, and settlement conferences.
  • Argue motions in court and assist in trial preparation and strategy.
  • Meet with clients to gather information, provide legal advice, and update them on case progress.
  • Collaborate with other team members and external experts to ensure effective case management.

Requirements

  • Active license to practice law in Oklahoma with good standing.
  • 3 to 5 years of civil litigation experience, with a preference for insurance defense.
  • In-depth understanding of litigation procedures in both Oklahoma state and federal courts.
  • Ability to manage a full caseload efficiently and effectively under deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Current and active Oklahoma State Bar license.

Skills

  • Self-motivated and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Client-focused with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
  • Proficient in office systems, including MS Office Suite, and legal document management systems (such as Juris and Perfect Law).
  • Accurate timekeeping and attention to billing processes.
