Job Title: Law Reform Legal Intern - Fall 2025

Job Responsibilities:
The law reform units of the organization offer law school students the chance to engage in impactful work on litigation and policy initiatives aimed at addressing systemic issues affecting the organization's clients. Interns will be assigned to one of the law reform units, such as the Civil Practice or Homeless Rights Unit, based on their preferences and the needs of the units. The internship will involve participating in various aspects of the organization's law reform work, which may include:
- Conducting legal and factual research
- Interviewing clients
- Participating in discovery and trial practice as opportunities arise
- Contributing to legal papers, policy memos, or legislative testimony
Interns are required to rank their preferred law reform units and will be matched accordingly based on experience and organizational needs.

Education and Experience Information:
Applicants must be 2L or 3L law students in good standing. The position requires:
- An interest in working on issues affecting the rights of the organization's clients, specifically in the unit(s) prioritized by the applicant
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
- The ability to analyze complex legal and policy issues
- Initiative to see projects through to completion
- A commitment to racial and social justice

Salary Information:
As an intern position, this role does not offer a salary. However, interns who meet specific eligibility criteria have the opportunity to receive a $1,000 stipend from the Howard Rossbach fund. This stipend, established in memory of Judge J. Howard Rossbach, is awarded through a lottery system to support 4-5 interns annually who demonstrate financial need and lack funding for their internship at the organization. To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be enrolled as a degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited institution
- Complete the Howard Rossbach Internship Stipend Form at the time of submitting their internship application
- Be accepted to participate in an internship program at the organization
- Demonstrate financial need and lack funding for their internship
- Submit a statement reflecting a strong interest in working at the organization upon graduation
The stipend will be treated as taxable income.
