Job Title: Tax Manager - Private Equity
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager in the Private Equity division under the Tax Services department, you will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in the largest growth area within the tax industry. The role is geared towards individuals with experience in partnership taxation, team leadership, and advisory services on critical tax and business issues. The primary responsibilities include:
- Providing tax compliance and advisory services to investment management clients.
- Assisting clients with effective analysis, solution development, and implementation of tax objectives.
- Managing client relationships by delivering tax advisory services.
- Performing high-level reviews of tax research, partnership work papers, allocations, and tax filings.
- Preparing and leading client meetings focused on compliance and advisory projects related to tax planning opportunities and the tax implications of various transactions.
- Training, mentoring, and supervising new and experienced Tax Consultants and Tax Seniors.
- Taking on lead client-contact roles.
- Conducting billing and profitability analysis on engagements.
- Engaging in marketplace eminence building and pursuits.
Education and Experience Information:
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model, requiring co-location in person 2-3 days per week.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or another business-related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and income tax returns.
- At least 3 years of experience with investment management or partnership taxation.
- Experience in managing projects, including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and billing.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on work needs and client requirements.
- One of the following active accreditations obtained:
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
- If not CPA eligible: Licensed Attorney or Enrolled Agent
- Certifications such as Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) are preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a Big 4 accounting firm or a large CPA firm equivalent.
- Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting.
Salary Information:
The wage range for the Tax Manager role takes into account various factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range is $93,660 to $213,200, which has not been adjusted for geographic differentials based on location. It is typical for compensation decisions to be based on individual facts and circumstances, and an individual may not be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules of the program. Awards, if any, depend on individual and organizational performance among other factors.
