Job Title: Compliance Privacy Advisor, Principal Associate
Job Responsibilities:
- The Compliance Privacy Advisor, Principal Associate (PA) is responsible for mitigating privacy risk at a technologically focused financial institution.
- The PA will perform key privacy compliance activities to ensure adherence to state, federal, and international privacy laws and regulations.
- The role includes ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and international privacy laws and regulations.
- The PA will apply risk, process management, and analytical skills to support privacy risk objectives in compliance and business operations.
- Responsibilities include closely following emerging privacy trends nationally and internationally, maintaining subject matter expertise in privacy laws such as GDPR, UK DPA, FCRA, FACTA, TCPA, TSR, CAN-SPAM, GLBA, PIPEDA, FFIEC guidance, CCPA, and CA SB1.
- The PA will provide guidance and effective challenge on privacy risks and support business lines through various interactions and forum engagements.
- Advising business lines on the application of privacy requirements, development of controls and monitoring, remediation/corrective action of compliance breakdowns, and changes in law and regulation is a key responsibility.
- The PA will support and participate in evaluating business line initiatives and processes from a privacy risk perspective.
- Assisting business lines in developing and maintaining the Compliance Management Program is expected.
- The PA will actively participate in complex projects by providing guidance, advice, and effective challenge.
- Engagement with privacy compliance testing and third-party compliance is required.
- The PA will review privacy-related complaints from business lines and provide guidance on remediation, escalating and consulting with subject matter experts when necessary.
- Evaluating privacy issues and events for compliance impacts is crucial.
- The PA will assist in capturing, maintaining, and analyzing compliance data and participate in reporting activities used by senior leadership.
Education and Experience Information:
- Basic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree or military experience and at least 3 years of compliance, risk management, legal, regulatory examiner, or audit experience.
- At least 3 years of experience working with internal business customers is required.
- Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree or Juris Doctor, 4+ years of compliance, risk management, legal, regulatory examiner, or audit experience, and certifications such as CIPP (Certified International Privacy Professional) or CRCM (Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager).
Salary Information:
- The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are:
- McLean, VA: $117,300 - $133,900 for Compliance Advisory Specialist III
- Richmond, VA: $106,700 - $121,700 for Compliance Advisory Specialist III
- Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. The actual annualized salary amount offered at the time of hire will be reflected in the candidate’s offer letter.
- This role is eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
