Job Title: Associate Attorney
Job Responsibilities:
- Court Appearances: The associate attorney is responsible for preparing, appearing timely, and properly handling court appearances within a reasonable travel distance. The attorney must ensure timely and reliable attendance at the designated courthouse, which may require overnight travel. Driving a car is necessary for some locations.
- Court Coverage Placements: The associate must review and request coverage where necessary for court calls that they will not attend. This includes attaching all necessary documents for the attorney’s appearance and any orders required for the requested coverage results.
- Mid Litigation Motions and Responses: The associate may need to draft, review, and file necessary motions during the course of litigation.
- Trials and Arbitrations: Preparation for trials and arbitrations may be required, which could involve overnight stays in distant counties.
- Communications: The associate is responsible for communicating with consumers, their employers, and consumer attorneys as needed to resolve accounts or suits.
Education and Experience Information:
- The candidate must be licensed to practice law in the State of Oregon. Additional licensing in other states such as IA, MO, KS, IL, NY, NE, ID, CA, WA, AK, HI, and NV is welcomed.
- The candidate should be comfortable appearing in court and consistently able to appear on time using their own method of transportation.
- The role requires the ability to multi-task and possess strong verbal and written communication skills due to a high volume of cases.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected.

- The position offers a competitive base salary.

Additional Information:
- Travel may be required, and the law firm reimburses in accordance with IRS published mileage rates. Other firm-approved travel expenses will be reimbursed in the subsequent pay period following submission for reimbursement.
