Job Summary:

**Members Only**, a large private homebuilding company, is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel to join their legal department in Phoenix, AZ. This is a full-time, in-office position that offers the opportunity to work with a successful company and a great legal team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience as a transactional real estate attorney in a law firm or corporate environment.

Responsibilities:

Draft and negotiate land purchase agreements, construction contracts, and other legal documents.
Conduct due diligence functions on land purchase transactions.
Advise executives on legal risks and provide daily legal support.
Conduct legal research to identify applicable statutes, judicial decisions, and legislation.
Assist with pre-litigation work to minimize risks and protect legal rights.
Manage ongoing litigation, including working with outside counsel.
Provide training to employees on legal and compliance matters.
Perform corporate audits related to compliance management.
Maintain strict adherence to ethical duties of the legal profession.
Build and maintain effective relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctorate from a respected ABA accredited law school and admitted to and in good standing with the applicable state bar.
5+ years of experience as a transactional real estate attorney in a law firm or corporate environment.
Previous experience in homebuilding, construction, and/or real estate related litigation is a plus.
Strong work ethic and positive, goal-oriented attitude.
Strong analytical, strategic and creative thinking skills.
Exceptional judgment.
Detail oriented.
Superior oral and written communication skills.
Ability to balance multiple competing priorities.
Ability to interact with leaders inside and outside of the organization.
Must have a valid driver’s license for company business travel.
