A law firm with a long-standing presence in complex civil litigation seeks attorneys with a strong foundation in defending healthcare professionals and institutions. This position is ideal for those with 2–5 years of medical liability experience looking to advance their careers in a supportive, trial-ready environment. The firm is known for its meticulous case preparation, collaborative approach, and commitment to protecting reputations in the healthcare field.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Represent physicians, hospitals, and healthcare providers in malpractice claims.

  • Manage all phases of litigation from intake through resolution, including pre-suit investigation, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.

  • Conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts; prepare detailed summaries and evaluate testimony for strategic case development.

  • Draft persuasive legal documents, including motions, discovery responses, status reports, and settlement communications.

  • Collaborate with internal legal teams, medical consultants, and clients to build effective defense strategies tailored to complex factual scenarios.

  • Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances as needed.

  • Maintain regular communication with clients and insurers, providing updates, recommendations, and legal analysis throughout the life of each case.

Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of hands-on litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle a busy docket and manage multiple matters simultaneously with minimal oversight.

  • Exceptional analytical, research, and writing skills.

  • Proven ability to interact with clients, experts, and opposing counsel professionally and strategically.

  • Strong organizational habits and attention to detail, especially when working with complex medical records and expert reports.

  • Prior deposition or courtroom experience is highly preferred.

Education & Licensing:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited . law school.

  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
