A law firm with a long-standing presence in complex civil litigation seeks attorneys with a strong foundation in defending healthcare professionals and institutions. This position is ideal for those with 2–5 years of medical liability experience looking to advance their careers in a supportive, trial-ready environment. The firm is known for its meticulous case preparation, collaborative approach, and commitment to protecting reputations in the healthcare field.
Core Responsibilities:
Represent physicians, hospitals, and healthcare providers in malpractice claims.
Manage all phases of litigation from intake through resolution, including pre-suit investigation, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
Conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts; prepare detailed summaries and evaluate testimony for strategic case development.
Draft persuasive legal documents, including motions, discovery responses, status reports, and settlement communications.
Collaborate with internal legal teams, medical consultants, and clients to build effective defense strategies tailored to complex factual scenarios.
Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances as needed.
Maintain regular communication with clients and insurers, providing updates, recommendations, and legal analysis throughout the life of each case.
Requirements:
2–5 years of hands-on litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice.
Demonstrated ability to handle a busy docket and manage multiple matters simultaneously with minimal oversight.
Exceptional analytical, research, and writing skills.
Proven ability to interact with clients, experts, and opposing counsel professionally and strategically.
Strong organizational habits and attention to detail, especially when working with complex medical records and expert reports.
Prior deposition or courtroom experience is highly preferred.
Education & Licensing:
Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited . law school.
Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
