Job Title: Bankruptcy Attorney
Job Overview:
A reputable law firm based in Charlotte, NC, specializing in creditor's rights, is looking for a skilled Bankruptcy Attorney to join their team. This firm handles national bankruptcy cases, specifically representing secured creditors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy proceedings. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience with a solid understanding of the Bankruptcy Code and Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure. However, the firm is open to training motivated candidates with less experience who demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork and learning.
Duties:
- Manage routine bankruptcy matters involving secured creditors
- Draft and review pleadings and claims relevant to assigned cases
- Attend scheduled hearings, ensuring proper representation and procedural compliance
- Address general bankruptcy inquiries from the firm
- Review filings on behalf of clients and monitor electronic filings (ECFs)
- Handle common bankruptcy motions and procedures such as Motions for Relief, Objections to Confirmation, and Proofs of Claim
- Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and the Court
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in bankruptcy law, preferably with secured creditors
- Strong understanding of the Bankruptcy Code and Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure
- Proficient in managing multiple cases simultaneously, with attention to detail
- Ability to navigate complex legal issues and provide solutions promptly
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active bar membership in North Carolina or Tennessee
- Admitted to practice in the Bankruptcy Courts of North Carolina or Tennessee
Certifications:
- Must be licensed to practice law in North Carolina or Tennessee
