**Job Title:**
Tax Manager, State Income and Franchise - Multistate
**Job Responsibilities:**
As a Tax Manager within the Multistate Tax Services group, your primary responsibilities will involve providing tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse client base across various industry sectors. Key duties include:
- Maintaining and developing robust client relationships on diverse tax consulting and compliance engagements.
- Advising clients on a range of issues, including multistate tax planning, accounting for income taxes, restructuring, audit defense, and due diligence.
- Overseeing complex state tax compliance and consulting projects that require tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates.
- Conducting research and analysis on a wide range of tax issues and implications, including apportionment methodology, unitary filings, and nexus considerations.
- Managing engagement workflow, team resources, and engagement billing.
- Providing leadership, counseling, and career guidance for the development and motivation of the engagement team.
**Education and Experience Information:**
**Required:**
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model requiring US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 – 3 days per week.
- More than 5 years of experience in state income and franchise tax.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- One of the following active accreditations obtained:
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
**Preferred:**
- Advanced degree such as a Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Previous experience in Big 4 or a large CPA firm.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Solid understanding and experience with state tax compliance, tax planning, tax analysis, and tax research.
- Strong management experience.
**Salary Information:**
The wage range for this role considers a variety of factors, including skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range does not account for geographic differentials associated with the location in which the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $93,660 to $213,200. Additionally, there may be eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, depending on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
