Job Title: Senior Corporate Counsel (REMOTE East Coast)
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Corporate Counsel is tasked with providing comprehensive legal support for the Company's subsidiary businesses, which include Perten, Solus, Covaris, and Project Farma. The role necessitates managing various legal aspects, such as litigation, employment, and regulatory matters, corporate governance, and entity management. Key duties include:
- Partnering with product and regional commercial teams to negotiate various legal agreements including sales, service, distribution, indirect channel, R&D, and supplier agreements.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating strategic business agreements and transactions.
- Offering legal assistance to corporate functions such as human resources, Finance, HR, and Tax.
- Advising the business on corporate governance, employment, compliance, privacy, antitrust, quality/regulatory, and advertising/promotional issues.
- Supporting dispute resolution with third parties.
- Managing outside counsel within defined budgets when engaged.
- Collaborating with other legal department members and assisting as required.
- Performing additional related duties as knowledge and legal skills evolve.
- Supporting business clients across multiple time zones.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree with 8-12 years of prior experience in a large law firm or corporate legal department. Essential skills include:
- Effective negotiation, persuasion, and offering creative resolutions to achieve mutually acceptable compromises.
- Experience with private and public tender contracting processes.
- Strong project management and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to quickly and effectively identify and resolve legal issues.
- Proven team player capabilities, able to work across all levels of the organization with multiple functional and business stakeholders.
- Ability to assess risk exposure and advise the business in a practical manner, balancing legal risks with business needs.
Preferred Characteristics:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a clear and concise drafting style.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating energy and self-motivation.
- Capacity to lead projects and establish effective cross-functional teams.
- Willingness and ability to respond to business clients’ needs outside of regular business hours.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Anticipated travel of less than 5%.
Salary Information:
The annual compensation range for this full-time position is between $170,000 and $200,000. The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors such as internal equity, work location, and individual qualifications, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
