Job Overview:
A well-established insurance defense law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with a minimum of 3 years of experience to join its litigation team in New Orleans, LA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general casualty defense, including auto liability, premises liability, insurance coverage, and bad faith claims. This is a full-time, in-office role that offers an excellent opportunity for courtroom exposure and long-term growth in a supportive, trial-focused environment.
Location:
New Orleans, LA
Duties:
Handle a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through trial
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal memoranda
Conduct legal research on insurance coverage, bad faith, and liability issues
Participate in and take depositions of fact and expert witnesses
Represent clients in mediations, hearings, and trials in both State and Federal Courts
Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and litigation management
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance representatives
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of insurance defense litigation experience
Experience with auto liability, premises liability, coverage disputes, and bad faith claims
Demonstrated ability to handle files independently
Trial preparation and courtroom experience strongly preferred
Education:
Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited . law school
Certifications:
Active license and in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar
Skills:
Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills
Strong oral advocacy and deposition skills
Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines
Team-oriented with a professional demeanor and strong work ethic
Comfortable practicing in both State and Federal Courts
