Position Summary:

- Seeking a strategic and creative federal tax professional with experience serving real estate owners and operators.
- Looking for a leader with solid understanding of Subchapter K, partnership allocation methodologies, and REIT qualification rules.

What You'll Do:

- Provide federal tax consulting and compliance services to clients in the Real Estate industry sector.
- Work directly with clients, manage tax engagement team, have access to specialists, use state-of-the-art technology, and receive support from firm leadership.
- Assist clients with life events for partnerships, inside and outside basis computations, section 704(c) and section 743(b) computations, and Schedule K-1 processing.
- Use proprietary technologies to streamline tax compliance processes and achieve worldwide compliance.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships in the real estate industry.
- Advise clients on various tax issues, including REIT qualification, Tax Reform impact, business restructuring, and tax controversy.
- Oversee complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects using state-of-the-art technology and data analytics.
- Manage engagement workflow, team resources, and billing.
- Mentor and develop junior staff, providing leadership, counseling, career guidance, and work/life balance advice.

The Team:

- Global leaders in providing professional services to the Real Estate industry.
- Work with clients to address critical issues brought on by regulatory changes, competition, globalization, technology advancements, and changing customer demands.
- Clients include investment advisers and administrators from all sectors of the industry, such as investment managers, partnerships, private equity, REITs, and other real estate owners and operators.
- Offers a spectrum of business tax services for public and private companies, including tax planning, compliance, controversy and risk management, and specialized services like research and development, government incentives, and tax management consulting.

Qualifications:

Required:

- Ability to work within a hybrid work model, co-locating in-person 2-3 days per week.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Active accreditation in one of the following: CPA, Attorney, Enrolled Agent, CFA, CFP.
- 5+ years of corporate or international tax experience.
- Ability to travel up to 25% based on work and client needs.

Preferred:

- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Previous experience in Big 4 or large CPA firm.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Research skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Solid understanding of real estate tax technical and transaction skills, including partnership taxation, REIT taxation and qualification, partnership allocations, tax compliance, due diligence, and acquisition/disposition planning and structuring.

Compensation:

- Wage range takes into account factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure/certifications, and business needs.
- Wage range estimate has not been adjusted for applicable geographic differential.
- Typical for individuals to be hired below the top of the range, as compensation decisions are dependent on individual circumstances.
- Reasonable estimate of current range is $104,160 to $193,440.

Discretionary Annual Incentive Program:

- Eligible to participate, subject to program rules.
- Award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
