Responsibilities:
- Provide trade compliance advice to clients in a variety of industries, including import and/or export matters
- Lead and manage client projects, such as trade compliance audits, reviews, and program development
- Support market development and thought leadership initiatives by writing articles
- Conduct research and review advice on export compliance matters
- Assist in managing and developing team members' careers
Additional Responsibilities for Senior Associate:
- Provide leadership to associates and review their work
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of recent direct experience in trade compliance, including knowledge of . Customs and Border Protection rules and regulations, . Harmonized Tariff Code, . customs valuation requirements, and export compliance (., EAR and ITAR)
- Bachelor's degree, ., . in taxation and/or MBA from an accredited college/university
- In-depth experience with . import and export control regulations, with the ability to provide practical advice and solutions for complex matters
- General export control and sanctions experience, such as conducting compliance audits and assessments, voluntary self-disclosures, and advisory opinion requests
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to plan and conduct in-depth reviews of transactional data using data and analytics
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Additional Qualifications for Senior Associate:
- Minimum three years of recent direct experience in import and/or export compliance matters
- United States Customs Broker or CUSECO certification preferred
