Duties:
- Conduct investigations and supervise individuals charged or convicted of federal crimes
- Ensure the safety of officers and the public during interactions with offenders
- Use physical and mental skills to handle potentially dangerous situations
- Face daily stress and danger while working with offenders
- Work with other law enforcement agencies and community resources
- Counsel offenders to maintain compliance with release conditions
Requirements:
- Must undergo background investigation, medical examination, and drug screening
- Ongoing random drug screening and updated background investigations every five years
- Must be a . citizen or eligible to work in the .
- Must be under 37 years old at the time of appointment, or have previous federal law enforcement experience with a break in service or intervening service in a non-law enforcement position
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, or one year of experience in criminal justice or a related field
- Ability to evaluate and apply statutes and regulations, and knowledge of criminal justice system and investigative techniques
- Good communication skills, both written and oral
- Some travel required
