Job Title: Tax Manager, Specialized Tax Services Partnerships

Job Responsibilities:

1. Tax Specialization:
- Maintain and develop an in-depth understanding of technical and practical issues related to partnership taxation.
- Advise clients on tax implications of their business objectives, focusing on partnership-specific items such as section 704(b) and taxable income allocations, capital account maintenance, liability analysis, section 734(b) and 743(b) adjustment calculations, and Tax Receivable Agreement (TRA) calculations.
- Actively participate in the development of the STS Partnership Practice and process improvement initiatives.

2. Research:
- Identify when research is needed, frame issues concisely for research, and report analyses clearly.
- Identify complex issues for the engagement team to research and provide a methodology for efficient research.
- Train associates and senior associates on research skills and frame tax issues for analysis.

3. Tax Consulting:
- Assist in developing, recommending, and implementing methods to maximize client benefits, especially by reducing current and future taxes.
- Apply tax knowledge and business/industry knowledge to recommend solutions and manage client expectations.
- Implement applicable strategies and manage client expectations.

4. Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise associates and senior associates on various projects.
- Review work prepared by associates and senior associates, providing feedback and review comments.
- Train associates and senior associates on current software tools.
- Act as a career advisor, schedule and manage workloads, and provide performance feedback.

Education and Experience Information:

Education:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Accountancy or Taxation.

Experience:
- Required: Five or more years of relevant tax experience or experience in public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services.
- Required: Specialized partnership experience.
- Preferred: Prior supervisory experience and private equity experience at both fund and portfolio company levels.

License/Certifications:
- Preferred: CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) or an equivalent designation.
- Preferred: Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to the role.

Salary Information:
- Individual salaries are determined after considering the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
- National Range: $79,800 - $168,000
- Maryland Range: $79,800 - $168,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $79,800 - $168,000
- Washington DC Range: $79,800 - $168,000

- Executive presence and ability to act as a primary contact on assigned engagements.
