Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Statutes Attorney to join its team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with various departments to ensure personal injury cases move forward before reaching their statutes of limitations. The Statutes Attorney will handle critical tasks such as reviewing cases, filing claims, and ensuring all steps are taken to meet legal deadlines. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and time management skills to ensure cases are managed effectively.

Location:

  • Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

  • Review personal injury cases nearing their statutes of limitations.
  • Collaborate with pre-litigation and litigation attorneys to identify any delays and ensure timely action.
  • Follow up with various departments to ensure all necessary steps are taken for cases to move forward.
  • File claims for cases approaching statutes of limitations.
  • Handle filing of government claims and monitor their status.
  • Attend hearings for cases that have been filed.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of personal injury legal experience.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in California.
  • Excellent time management skills, as duties are time-sensitive.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases effectively.
  • High attention to detail to prevent any cases from falling past statutes of limitations.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred but not required).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in California (California Bar).

Skills:

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle time-sensitive tasks efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail to prevent missing deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various departments.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
