Job Title: Corporate Counsel, Amazon Health Services

Job Responsibilities:
- Advise teams developing new clinical service lines on Corporate Practice of Medicine, Fraud, Waste and Abuse, Anti-kickback and Physician Self-Referral (Stark) Law, ERISA, HIPAA, direct practice acts, and insurance regulations.
- Create scalable strategies at a national level for compliance with practice of medicine requirements, scope of practice for Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Physician Assistants (PAs), Registered Nurses (RNs), Medical Assistants (MAs), licensure, supervision, prescribing, and telehealth.
- Lead legal support for Quality, Population Health, and Patient Safety teams and counsel on Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act, human subject research regulations, FDA requirements, and other healthcare regulations.
- Consult and collaborate with healthcare compliance teams and litigation counsel on medical malpractice, board complaints, and investigations.
- Effectively utilize outside counsel and advisors.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Juris Doctor degree and membership in one state bar or equivalent are required.
- A minimum of 5+ years of legal experience is necessary.
- Preferred experience includes working as a healthcare regulatory attorney, with at least 1 year preferably spent in an in-house capacity within a health system, health tech organization, health plan, or healthcare-related government agency advising providers and healthcare business leaders.

Salary Information:
The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in the lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in the highest geographic market. Compensation is influenced by several factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. As a total compensation company, Amazon may offer equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
