A well-established multi-state law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join its team on a full-time, remote basis. This role involves managing contested litigation matters related to mortgage servicing, residential real estate, title disputes, and foreclosure defense. Ideal candidates will possess strong advocacy skills, litigation experience, and the ability to work independently in a technology-driven legal environment.

Duties

  • Handle all aspects of civil litigation related to real estate and mortgage servicing matters

  • Manage pre-litigation cases and assist with resolving title issues

  • Draft and file legal pleadings, motions, and other court documents

  • Conduct discovery, including taking and defending depositions

  • Provide legal analysis and strategic advice to clients

  • Represent clients at hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and court appearances

  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation

  • Meet billable hour expectations (target of 1920 hours annually)

  • Perform additional legal duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 2–8 years of litigation experience, preferably in real estate or mortgage servicing

  • Ability to manage high-volume caseloads efficiently and meet deadlines

  • Willingness to travel throughout California for court-related obligations

  • Familiarity with foreclosure procedures and consumer protection statutes preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote legal team environment

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active member in good standing with the California State Bar

  • Must meet all ongoing continuing legal education (CLE) requirements

Skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Legal research proficiency and analytical capabilities

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel)

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Understanding of rules of evidence and courtroom procedures

  • Ability to identify and resolve legal and procedural issues efficiently
