Job Title: Senior Counsel – Corporate, Real Estate Transactions
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Counsel for Corporate, Real Estate Transactions is a pivotal role within the corporate legal team at the company, focusing primarily on real estate transactions. The incumbent will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice, counsel, and support to the Corporate Real Estate and Global Workplace Services function. The key responsibilities include:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a spectrum of real estate agreements and legal documents, such as lease agreements, amendments, renewal notices, lease terminations, tenant estoppel certificates, SNDAs, construction agreements, and real estate purchase and sale agreements.
- Managing relationships with external real estate counsel, coordinating work on matters outsourced to external counsel, and providing input based on the company’s risk tolerance, preferred terms, and strategic and operational objectives.
- Supporting the Corporate Real Estate’s transaction management and lease administration teams concerning the acquisition, renewal, and disposal of real estate and the administration of leases.
- Advising Corporate Real Estate on lease disputes and other operational matters involving the company’s facilities, including interpreting landlord and tenant rights and responsibilities under existing leases.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Senior Counsel position must possess the following qualifications:
- A Juris Doctorate degree with a record of high academic achievement.
- A license to practice law in Ohio or be licensed in the jurisdiction where they reside and work.
- At least 5-7 years of real estate transactional experience in a nationally recognized law firm, preferably as part of a real estate practice group, or comparable in-house experience.
- Experience in handling complex commercial real estate transactions for industrial, office, and retail spaces, including negotiating, reviewing, and drafting contracts and other legal documents.
- Familiarity with the healthcare industry is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision while acting with an appropriate sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
- Good business acumen and the ability to provide advice with a strategic, commercial focus.
- Strong personal ethics.
Salary Information:
The anticipated salary range for the Senior Counsel position is between $121,600 and $165,700. The role is bonus eligible. The company offers a wide variety of benefits and programs to support health and well-being, which include:

The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at the company is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience, and skills, and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
Additional Information:
The Senior Counsel is expected to utilize broad and deep knowledge and strong professional judgment to develop innovative new business practices, policies, and procedures. The individual will work on and potentially lead highly complex projects of large scope, which are typically cross-functional and have significant long-term impact. They will provide solutions that set precedents and advise on complex technical business issues. Consultation with management to determine project objectives with long-term implications is also expected.
