Job Description:
The **Members Only** is currently seeking a Supervising Self-Help Attorney and Family Law Facilitator to oversee and manage programs providing legal services to litigants without counsel. The position requires active membership in the State Bar of California and a minimum of 2 years of experience in mediation and/or litigation in family law, as well as at least 1 year in a lead or supervisor capacity. The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting all grant requirements and ensuring the smooth operation of the Family Law Facilitator's Office and the Self-Help Center.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage programs providing legal services to litigants without counsel
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements for the Family Law Facilitator's Office and Self-Help Center
- Facilitate and expedite family law proceedings related to child support, spousal support, paternity establishment and disestablishment, and health care insurance and expenses
- Provide legal services to litigants without counsel and assist with family law proceedings, including dissolution, legal separation, nullity, parentage, child custody and visitation, step-parent adoption, domestic violence restraining orders, probate guardianships, limited civil actions, name changes, and small claims
- Recommend, develop, implement, and coordinate all aspects of the Court's public access and outreach efforts
Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in the California State Bar Association
- Minimum 2 years of mediation and/or litigation experience in the field of family law
- At least 1 year in a lead or supervisor capacity, including managing a private practice
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Valid California Class C driver's license and ability to maintain insurability under the Court's vehicle insurance policy
Selection Process:
