Tax Director – Corporate/Commercial
Job Responsibilities:
As a member of the commercial practice, the Tax Director is responsible for overseeing multiple client service teams on engagements for a variety of clients, ranging from fast-growing early-stage companies to large multinational public companies. The director's key responsibilities include:
- Planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects.
- Providing innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients.
- Marketing, designing, and implementing tax-planning strategies.
- Managing project budgets.
- Conducting secondary reviews and holding ultimate responsibility for complex tax returns, including federal and state filings.
- Providing ASC 740 tax provision support.
- Maintaining active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, meet deadlines, and lead change efforts effectively.
- Managing, developing, training, and mentoring Associates and Managers on tax projects and assessing performance for engagement reviews.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required, with a preference for degrees in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related fields.
- An advanced credential allowing for client representation before the Internal Revenue Service is required (., CPA or JD).
- At least 8 years of relevant work experience with an accounting firm, including at least 4 years of Corporate Tax experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of complex tax issues.
- Proven leadership and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a natural facilitator.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficient use of technology, including MS Excel.

Salary Information:
The firm offers competitive base compensation, a benefits package, and a discretionary employee bonus program for eligible employees based on individual and firm performance metrics per the defined program guidelines. For individuals hired to work in Seattle, the expected salary range for this role is $179,500 to $306,700, with the actual salary offer varying based on employee qualifications.
