Job Overview:
A prominent law firm located in Reston, VA, is seeking a litigation associate with 3 years of experience to support complex litigation matters, particularly in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong command of legal writing, including Daubert and Rule 702 motion practice, and a desire to work in a collaborative and high-caliber legal environment. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to manage substantial responsibilities and interact with expert witnesses, clients, and team members on high-stakes litigation matters.

Duties:

  • Draft and review legal briefs, memoranda, motions, and discovery responses

  • Handle fact development and deposition preparation

  • Collaborate with and manage expert witnesses

  • Communicate directly with clients regarding case progress

  • Supervise junior attorneys and support staff

  • Contribute to the strategic planning of litigation matters

  • Address issues related to Daubert and Rule 702 in product liability cases

  • Participate in complex legal research and factual investigation

  • Maintain case documentation and project timelines

Requirements:

  • 3 years of litigation experience, preferably in a large-firm setting

  • Prior work with Rule 702 of the Federal Rules of Evidence and Daubert motion practice

  • Hands-on experience in product liability defense

  • Familiarity with litigation involving pharmaceutical or medical device manufacturers

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from a nationally recognized law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Virginia State Bar (or ability to waive in)

  • Candidates admitted in New York are also encouraged to apply
