Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a Wage and Hour Associate Attorney with 3-7 years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have experience defending class and PAGA (Private Attorneys General Act) claims in both state and federal courts. Responsibilities include preparing case evaluations, conducting document and data reviews, managing discovery requests, and handling law and motion work. Experience in arbitration and trial is a plus.

Location:

  • San Diego, CA

Duties:

  • Defend class and PAGA claims in both state and federal court.
  • Conduct document and data reviews related to wage and hour claims.
  • Prepare case evaluations for clients in class/PAGA actions.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests in class/PAGA matters.
  • Conduct and defend depositions.
  • Handle law and motion work, including motions to compel arbitration, dispositive motions, and discovery-related motions.
  • Prepare for and attend mediations in class/PAGA actions, including drafting mediation briefs.
  • Attend court hearings, status conferences, and argue dispositive motions.
  • Participate in arbitration and trial proceedings as necessary.

Requirements:

  • 3-7 years of wage and hour litigation experience, including class and PAGA actions.
  • Strong experience in defending class and PAGA claims in state and federal court.
  • Proficient in preparing case evaluations for clients related to wage and hour class/PAGA actions.
  • Extensive experience preparing and responding to discovery requests.
  • Strong skills in conducting and defending depositions.
  • Expertise in law and motion work, including dispositive motions and motions to compel arbitration.
  • Experience in arbitration and trial settings.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in the State of California.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex wage and hour matters independently.
  • Proficient in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment and work independently.
