Job Responsibilities:
Interns in the Washington, DC office will have a variety of responsibilities. These include answering phones, running errands, conducting research on legislation for the Member and legislative staff, attending hearings and briefings, and responding to constituent letters on various issues before the House. Through these tasks, interns will gain an understanding of the legislative process and the diverse functions of a congressional office.
Education and Experience Information:
Internships are available to college students during the fall, spring, or summer semesters. The program is designed to offer students invaluable work experience, although it is unpaid. The internship hours are flexible to accommodate students' course schedules, typically running from 9:00 . to 6:00 . when Congress is in session, and from 9:00 . to 5:00 . when not in session.
Salary Information:
The internship is unpaid.
