Duties

  • Manage a varied caseload of civil litigation matters, from initial pleadings through trial and appeals
  • Conduct depositions, hearings, trials, and appeals independently
  • Oversee a team of legal staff, providing mentorship and guidance to paralegals and junior attorneys
  • Conduct legal research and draft concise research articles for client newsletters
  • Deliver educational presentations to clients and participate in client-focused activities
  • Maintain current knowledge of evolving legal statutes and precedents, applying them effectively in case strategies
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and the leadership team to expand the firm’s presence in Missouri civil law

Requirements

  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and lead legal teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on collaboration and mentorship
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience in both court advocacy and client presentations
  • Ability to multitask and handle complex cases with keen attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating settlements and trying cases in court
  • Passion for client advocacy and delivering excellent legal service

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Missouri and/or Illinois

  • Proficient in legal research and writing for complex legal issues
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
