Manager, International Tax
Job Responsibilities:
The Manager, International Tax is responsible for advising multinational enterprises on various business decisions, including location and operation strategies, choice of entity, supply chain optimization, and capital mobilization for global operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing complex tax models illustrating multinational entities' attributes, effective tax rate, and cash tax expense.
- Advising clients on tax planning decisions to anticipate and understand the short- and long-term considerations and consequences at a global level.
- Collaborating with colleagues in Mergers & Acquisition Tax to structure the tax aspects of multinational private equity and strategic mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, dispositions, and IPOs.
- Drafting tax opinions, memos, structure decks, and Excel models to illustrate the tax benefits of alternative structures.
- Assisting multinational enterprises with preparing tax provisions for financial statements and reviewing compliance work products.
- Guiding clients on income tax treaty planning opportunities arising from inbound and outbound cross-border investing and trading activities.
- Providing services to alternative investment companies, including asset managers and portfolio companies operating globally.
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum of five years of recent experience in international, mergers and acquisitions, and/or federal tax planning engagements.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required.
- A master’s degree in Taxation, JD, and/or LLM (with a concentration in tax) is preferred.
- Licensed CPA, EA, or JD/LLM is required, with the option to obtain approved designations/credentials within one year of hire if not already possessed.
- Strong knowledge of a broad range of international and domestic tax law provisions.
- Excellent research, writing, Excel modeling, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to balance and lead multiple engagements, supervise and assist with the development and training of staff professionals, and maintain professionalism while providing excellent client service.
- Ability to develop and deepen client relationships and expand the company's footprint in local and global markets.
