The Office of the Attorney General in the State of Maryland is currently seeking law students to participate in their volunteer Law Clerk Program for the spring term. This program offers an opportunity for students to serve the citizens of Maryland in various legal fields, including criminal investigations, consumer protection, and counsel for state agencies.
As the largest and most prestigious law firm in the state, the Maryland Attorney General's Office handles a wide range of legal matters, from criminal investigations and prosecutions to environmental enforcement and civil litigation. As a law clerk, you will have the chance to work on legal research and writing, participate in witness and client interviews, and assist with litigation in Maryland's trial, administrative, and appellate courts.
The Law Clerk Program also provides a chance to make a difference in communities across the state. Whether it's protecting the Chesapeake Bay from polluters or keeping families safe from violence and unethical business practices, the Office of the Attorney General is dedicated to serving the people of Maryland.
Qualifications for this internship include excellent legal research and writing abilities, strong communication and team skills, a great work ethic, and a positive attitude. Schedules will be determined based on the needs of the division and the law clerk's class and extracurricular commitments. Law clerks are expected to work a minimum of 15-20 hours per week and may be eligible to receive course credit.
