Job Title: Tax Manager - Personal Financial Services
Job Responsibilities:
A career in the Personal Financial Service practice within the company provides the opportunity to assist private companies with a range of business advisory needs, such as audit, tax compliance, and planning to enhance operational efficiency and focus on business strategy. The role involves experiencing the entire business life cycle of a private company, from inception to growth, maturity, and transition. The team helps clients develop, design, and implement plans to achieve personal wealth goals and ensure maintenance for future generations. The focus is on analyzing tax efficiencies of income tax, investment, insurance, risk, and other lifestyle investments planning to establish a foundation for financial longevity. The role requires working as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing new skills outside of one's comfort zone.
- Acting to resolve issues that prevent the team from working effectively.
- Coaching others, recognizing their strengths, and encouraging them to take ownership of their personal development.
- Analyzing complex ideas or proposals and building a range of meaningful recommendations.
- Using multiple sources of information, including broader stakeholder views, to develop solutions and recommendations.
- Addressing sub-standard work or work that does not meet firm/client expectations.
- Using data and insights to inform conclusions and support decision-making.
- Developing a point of view on key global trends and how they impact clients.
- Managing a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes for all parties.
- Simplifying complex messages, highlighting, and summarizing key points.
- Upholding the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor Degree
- Required Fields of Study: Accounting
- Minimum Years of Experience: 5 years
- Certification(s) Required: CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
- Extensive abilities and a proven record of success consulting with high-net-worth individuals in areas such as individual income tax planning, financial planning, wealth transfer planning, business succession planning, or trust and estate work.
- Comprehensive technical skills related to income tax filings associated with high-net-worth individuals and related entities.
- Building, maintaining, and utilizing networks of client relationships and community involvement.
- Communicating value propositions.
- Managing resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing, and collections.
- Preparing and/or coordinating complex written and verbal materials.
- Supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust.
- Seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation.
- Coaching staff, including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is $98,300 - $266,000. Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. For roles based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range for this position. Actual compensation within the range will depend upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
