Job Title: Tax Manager – US Business Process Solutions - Managed Payroll Services

Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager in the US Business Process Solutions - Managed Payroll Services, your primary responsibility is to oversee and deliver payroll tax services for clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery with precision and accuracy. Key responsibilities include:
- Configuring payroll wage codes for accurate application of employer and employee taxes, including social security.
- Analyzing payroll tax notices and preparing Powers of Attorney.
- Liaising with Federal and State Agencies for effective communication and compliance.
- Registering employers for payroll taxes and preparing and filing payroll tax returns.
- Preparing Forms W-2, Forms 1099, and their state equivalents, and conducting regular audits to resolve compliance issues.
- Partnering with clients to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll tax liabilities.
- Reconciling federal and state withholding taxes and unemployment taxes on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Applying for identification numbers, such as FEIN and SUI, when entering new jurisdictions.
- Evaluating and improving payroll tax processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Identifying opportunities for automation and leading implementation efforts related to payroll taxes.
- Coordinating year-end efforts to ensure accurate W-2s and other annual tax filings.
- Ensuring proper setup and maintenance of local withholding codes in the payroll tax system.
- Possessing good knowledge of Tax State/SUI agency portals and performing quarterly reconciliation and data analysis.
- Reconciling payroll taxes at the employee level and having knowledge of Tax Adjustment and Amendment.
- Playing a lead role in Year-End processing for accurate W-2 issuance.
- Communicating directly with internal/external customers regarding tax inquiries and researching and resolving payroll tax inquiries.
- Ensuring tax-related updates in the payroll system are fully reviewed and understood.
- Performing internal audits as requested and identifying and resolving issues to drive improvements.
- Setting up the required operating protocols for the service offering.

Education and Experience Information:
- Required:
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model, co-locating in person 2 – 3 days per week.
- Over 5 years of experience in payroll tax processing, preferably in a multi-state US environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, human resources, international business, finance, accounting, or other liberal arts majors.
- One of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain:
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible:
- Enrolled Agent
- Juris Doctor (JD)
- Ability to travel up to 25%, based on work and client needs.

- Preferred:
- Proficiency with payroll software (., ADP, Workday, Paycom) and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work as part of a dynamic team with diverse members.
- Skills in prioritizing tasks, managing multiple assignments, and working in a team environment.
- Strong analytical, consultative, quantitative, and project management skills.
- Executive presence, excellent communication (verbal & written), and presentation skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Attention to detail, self-starter, and deadline-oriented.

Salary Information:
The wage range for this role considers various factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and business needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for geographic differentials. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $103,320 to $235,170. Compensation decisions are case-dependent, and participation in a discretionary annual incentive program may be possible, subject to program rules and individual and organizational performance factors.
