Job Title: Consulting Senior Manager - Patents & Intangible Assets Strategy

Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies that leverage intangible assets, including patents, proprietary technologies, data, and know-how, to fuel innovation, strengthen market position, and drive long-term growth.
- Assess individual patents and patent portfolios using advanced tools such as PatentSight, PatentSnap, Orbit, and Derwent to uncover commercial relevance, white space, risk, and strategic alignment.
- Help clients integrate their intangible assets into corporate strategy, product development, innovation planning, and M&A, turning overlooked IP into active drivers of performance and value.
- Lead strategy projects that evaluate and activate intangible assets, particularly patents, within the context of corporate goals, market conditions, and competitive positioning.
- Conduct detailed assessments of individual patents and portfolios to identify core assets, assess defensibility, determine commercial relevance, and support strategic decisions.
- Use patent analytics platforms to perform landscaping, benchmarking, and innovation white space analysis.
- Develop commercialization strategies, including licensing, joint ventures, product alignment, or IP-driven business model shifts.
- Translate complex intangible assets data and insights into actionable strategies for senior stakeholders across legal, innovation, and commercial functions.
- Lead project teams, manage client interactions, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, strategically aligned outputs.
- Contribute to internal methodology development and the evolution of the company's approach to intangible asset strategy.

Education and Experience Information:
- Qualified patent attorney or equivalent experience with demonstrated fluency in patent prosecution, portfolio management, and IP analysis.
- Strong consulting background with experience in strategic engagements related to innovation, commercialization, or intangible assets.
- Ability to assess both the legal/technical and commercial dimensions of patents and connect them to business priorities.
- Proficiency in IP analytics tools such as PatentSight, PatentSnap, Orbit Intelligence, or Derwent Innovation.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and build compelling business cases around intangible asset use.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical insights in a business context.
- Preferred experience in IP-intensive sectors such as life sciences, software, deep tech, or advanced manufacturing.
- Familiarity with licensing strategies, innovation ecosystems, and commercialization models.

Salary Information:
- The expected salary range for this role in San Francisco is $153,660 - $280,000, with the actual salary offer varying based on employee qualifications.
- The firm offers competitive base compensation, benefits package, and a discretionary employee bonus program based on individual and firm performance metrics.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, paid time off starting at 160 hours annually, and twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
- Annual discretionary bonuses based on firm and individual performance and other forms of discretionary compensation may also be offered.
