A respected law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Counsel to join its Family Law practice in Raleigh, North Carolina. Location

Duties

  • Provide counsel to clients regarding litigation matters and legal strategy

  • Interpret and apply relevant statutes, case law, and court decisions

  • Develop comprehensive legal strategies for complex family law matters

  • Prepare and review legal documents, including separation agreements, pleadings, deeds, and wills

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement negotiations

  • Conduct legal research and review case evidence such as police reports and DSS records

  • Appear as lead counsel in hearings and trials (first chair experience required)

  • Handle consultations with potential clients and assist with business development initiatives

  • Maintain strong client relationships through clear and empathetic communication

  • Ensure timely completion of billable hour requirements

  • Participate in firm development and community involvement efforts

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in family law litigation

  • Demonstrated first-chair trial experience in family court

  • Recognized by industry organizations (., Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, Legal Elite)

  • Proven ability to manage complex caseloads with minimal supervision

  • Strong negotiation, public speaking, and problem-solving skills

  • Track record of business development or client growth is a plus

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited . law school

  • Strong academic performance preferred

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in North Carolina (required)

  • Board Certification in Family Law (preferred or willingness to obtain)
