A respected law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Counsel to join its Family Law practice in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role is ideal for a seasoned litigator with at least five years of family law experience and a strong track record in trial advocacy. Provide counsel to clients regarding litigation matters and legal strategy
Interpret and apply relevant statutes, case law, and court decisions
Develop comprehensive legal strategies for complex family law matters
Prepare and review legal documents, including separation agreements, pleadings, deeds, and wills
Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement negotiations
Conduct legal research and review case evidence such as police reports and DSS records
Appear as lead counsel in hearings and trials (first chair experience required)
Handle consultations with potential clients and assist with business development initiatives
Maintain strong client relationships through clear and empathetic communication
Ensure timely completion of billable hour requirements
Participate in firm development and community involvement efforts
Minimum of 5 years of experience in family law litigation
Demonstrated first-chair trial experience in family court
Recognized by industry organizations (., Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, Legal Elite)
Proven ability to manage complex caseloads with minimal supervision
Strong negotiation, public speaking, and problem-solving skills
Track record of business development or client growth is a plus
Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited . law school
Strong academic performance preferred
Active license to practice law in North Carolina (required)
Board Certification in Family Law (preferred or willingness to obtain)
Advanced legal research, drafting, and analytical capabilities
Strong courtroom and trial advocacy skills
Effective communicator with both clients and legal teams
Ability to develop trust and rapport with diverse client populations
Team-oriented with leadership potential and a proactive mindset
Comfortable working with digital case management tools
