Job Title: Business Process Engineer - Intermediate
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as a member of the Business Process Reengineering (BPR) team, focusing on the reengineering of transportation and financial business processes to support the Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS). This initiative is a Department of Defense (DoD) effort aimed at integrating end-to-end transportation and financial operations.
- Validate existing (AS-IS) processes and identify capability gaps, ensuring they align with JTMS objectives such as auditability, transparency, and optimized resource allocation.
- Conduct BPR activities required as part of the systems engineering process. This includes support for use case development, end-to-end process modeling, and detailed functional and system requirements decomposition for specified and approved IT system design, development, and modernization activities.
- Analyze business or systems processes to identify opportunities for process automation, improvement, and increased efficiency and auditability. Provide advice and recommendations based on this analysis.
- Utilize Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) to capture business rules, decision logic, exception handling, and end-to-end process flows.
- Produce future state (TO-BE) models for the material solution to streamline operations across 86 lines of business within the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE).
- Collaborate with program teams to translate requirements into features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and test scenarios.
- Identify upstream and downstream process impacts, working with functional teams to resolve overlaps and handoffs between organizational boundaries.
- Utilize metrics to assess the effectiveness and cost savings of reengineering efforts.
Education and Experience Information:
Required:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in fields such as mathematics, statistics, business, law, computer science, engineering, physical/applied sciences, or management disciplines like business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or management information technology.
- Over 3 years of experience in areas such as Data Analysis, Statistical Analysis, Problem Solving, and Business Process Reengineering or other relevant areas.
- Experience with process mapping and analysis tools, project management software, and data visualization and reporting tools.
- Ability to work as a team member in a diverse group, including government and military personnel.
- Strong analytical, communication (both oral and written), and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to successfully pass a Tier 1 investigation.
Desired:
- Experience in successful large-scale system transformations or modernization efforts.
- General knowledge or experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Experience with USTRANSCOM.
- Proficiency with Visio, DoDAF, BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) modeling.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma.
- SAFe Agile experience, including SAFe Agilist Certification.
Salary Information:
The proposed salary range for the position of Business Process Engineer - Intermediate is $57,500 to $117,900. The final salary can be influenced by various factors including geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
