Job Title: E-Commerce Product Counsel
Job Responsibilities:
The E-Commerce Product Counsel is an integral part of the legal team supporting the company’s rapidly expanding e-commerce business units. The primary responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with global legal and product teams to review products, features, and new initiatives, ensuring legal risk mitigation and compliance from a . legal standpoint for the company’s e-commerce platform.
- Coordinating with cross-functional teams such as product operations, public policy, and communications to align on business strategies and legal compliance.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of the company’s e-commerce initiatives through legal review and providing guidance on relevant legal frameworks.
- Reviewing and analyzing potential legal risks associated with new product developments and business strategies.
- Assisting in developing internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
- Providing legal support on various e-commerce-related matters.
Education and Experience Information:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Membership in good standing of the California bar or the jurisdiction where the candidate is based, or being registered as in-house counsel.
- Experience working with international teams across different time zones in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Excellent and concise written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in providing legal advice related to online platforms or e-commerce.
- Familiarity with . consumer protection laws relevant to online marketplaces.
- Ability to effectively interact with colleagues at all levels.
- A self-starter attitude with a willingness to learn and maintain a positive outlook.
Salary Information:
For Pay Transparency, the compensation description is as follows:
- The base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $240,000 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range based on factors such as candidate qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.
- Base pay is part of the Total Package that compensates and recognizes employees for their work. This role may also be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units.
- Benefits vary depending on employment nature and location, including medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, disability coverage, life insurance, and wellbeing benefits. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays, 10 paid sick days, and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (with increasing accruals by tenure).
