Position Profile

Company seeks a State and Local Tax (SALT) Manager to join the Sales and Use (Indirect) Tax division of the SALT practice. The Sales and Use Tax Manager, in the State and Local Tax practice, will work on multiple complex tax engagements and contribute to the delivery of innovative sales and use tax planning ideas for a diverse range of clients. Job Responsibilities

Sales and Use Tax Managers have in-depth, first-hand experience in a wide range of industries. They draw on experience in accounting and taxation to provide consulting services to corporate clients. The primary responsibilities of a Sales and Use Tax Manager include:

- Identifying complex tax issues and providing tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates.
- Working on complex indirect tax audits, managed audits, and recovery of tax overpayments (reverse audits).
- Preparing complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries by researching and analyzing a wide range of tax issues and tax implications.
- Leading projects and a team of sales and use tax professionals.

Education and Experience Information

To be successful in this role, the following qualifications are required:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA, CMI, or JD
- 5+ years of state and local tax experience in a public accounting firm, tax services firm, or similar industry
- Experience with a focus on indirect (sales & use) tax compliance and consulting

Additionally, the following qualifications are preferred:

- Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop staff
- Strong relationship management and practice development skills
- Ability to attract and service new clients and expand services to existing clients

Salary Information

At Company, the most valuable resource is people. A reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position is $125,000 to $191,000 in the California and New York Metropolitan areas. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location. In addition to compensation packages, Company offers competitive health benefits, such as medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan. Further support for employees includes flexible scheduled time off (STO), a minimum of 56 hours of sick and safe leave, 11 holidays, and 2 scheduled recharge days.
