Job Title:
Attorney – Survivor and Family Justice Workgroup

Job Responsibilities:
The Attorney in the Survivor and Family Justice Workgroup is tasked with supporting survivors of domestic violence through legal representation and advocacy. Key responsibilities include:
- Engaging in outreach activities such as tabling, community events, and clinics to identify and assist potential clients.
- Managing an active caseload, providing direct legal services to victims of domestic violence in family law matters, and handling approximately 1-2 hearings per week.
- Communicating with referring partner agencies as needed to ensure coordinated support for clients.
- Staffing and supervising volunteers and students at domestic violence and family law clinics at local courthouses several times a month.
- Identifying significant legal needs and issues for survivors of domestic violence within the realm of family law and developing strategic plans, including litigation and policy initiatives, to address those needs.
- Conducting domestic violence-related family law trainings for client communities, partner organizations, community groups, and related service providers.
- Collaborating with the Pro Bono Director to recruit, train, and supervise volunteer attorneys and law students.

Education and Experience Information:
- Active membership in the California State Bar is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of litigation experience in State Court, specifically in family law proceedings, is necessary.
- Demonstrated knowledge of domestic violence and family law is essential.
- The candidate should have a genuine interest in maintaining a docket of active family law and restraining order cases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- The ability to function professionally and effectively under pressure is necessary.
- Experience working with diverse client populations, including low-income communities, is preferred.
- Bilingual abilities are preferred.
- The candidate must be willing to work beyond a minimum workday, including evenings and weekends, and workweeks in excess of 35 hours when the caseload necessitates.

Salary Information:
The salary for the Attorney position ranges from $80,000 to $86,528 annually, dependent on experience, with excellent benefits.

Hybrid Work Schedule:
Advocates are working on a hybrid schedule, with the option to work remotely up to half the week after the probationary period. The successful candidate must be local and willing to work from the assigned office.
