Job Title: 2025 Fall Legal Internship
Job Responsibilities:
The **Members Only** (GJC), a feminist human rights organization, is seeking highly-motivated Legal Interns for the spring and summer 2025 terms. Interns will have the opportunity to engage deeply with international human rights law, reproductive rights, and accountability for sexual and gender-based violence. Responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with a small and dynamic team to contribute to the organization's mission to advance gender equality through international law.
- Engaging in legal analysis and academic growth by exploring current trends and issues in international human rights law.
- Making substantial contributions to the organization's pioneering efforts in international human rights legal advocacy.
- Working in a hybrid capacity, with the option for fully remote internships for those able to commit to Eastern Time hours and with reliable internet access.
Education and Experience Information:
- Candidates must be enrolled law students or recent graduates (within 3 years of graduating).
- Applicants should possess knowledge of and experience in international law or human rights law.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
- English fluency is necessary, with additional languages, particularly French, being advantageous.
- The ability to work independently is important for this role.
Compensation:
The organization encourages interns to seek outside funding or university course credit for their internships. Due to limited availability of stipends, applicants are advised to explore all potential funding sources prior to applying. Candidates should indicate in their application if they will be funded, receiving university course credit, or wish to be considered for the stipend. If support is needed to apply for funding, candidates should note the funding program and application deadline date.
How to Apply:
Interested candidates should apply by sending a current resume, cover letter, and a writing sample in a single file to the specified email address with the appropriate subject line for the term they are applying for. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and only selected candidates will be contacted for an interview.
The organization is committed to diversity and inclusion, actively encouraging applications from people of color, individuals with disabilities, LGBTQIA individuals, and those from diverse racial, ethnic, and regional backgrounds. As an equal opportunity employer, the organization considers all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
