Job Title: Tax Senior Manager, Core Tax Services

Job Responsibilities:

The Senior Tax Manager plays a crucial role in providing tax and consulting services to business clients, particularly those with pass-through entities, and to their business owners. The primary responsibilities include:

- Tax Planning and Preparation: The manager is tasked with handling tax planning, preparation, and research for pass-through entities such as S-corporations, LLCs, and Partnerships, along with the business owners' individual returns, which may include estates, trusts, and charitable entities.

- Client Engagement Management: The position involves managing client engagements, supervising, and reviewing the work of team staff members, and working closely with clients as well as internal managers and partners to ensure client satisfaction through timely services and work product.

- Tax Compliance: Ensuring that clients comply with all applicable authorities while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens. This includes ensuring compliance with the company's policies, standards, and the Tax Quality Manual (TQM). A significant knowledge of taxation related to personal income, estate and gift tax, wealth retention strategies, and taxation of entities owned by business owners is required.

- Engagement Process Management: This includes budgeting, staffing, monitoring engagement process and actual time incurred versus budget, timely billing, management of identified out-of-scope activity, communication to clients, and timely collection of accounts receivable.

- Research: The manager identifies when research is needed and performs such research, clearly framing issues to be researched and reporting the analysis. They apply most company and professional standards for the preparation of Workpaper and tax returns and involve firm specialists as appropriate.

- Strategy Development: Introducing and developing new or improved ideas to improve the position of clients, the company, or company personnel, such as reducing taxes or expenses or providing non-tax benefits. Reviewing studies of tax implications and offering clients alternative courses of action.

- Supervisory Responsibilities: Building and training a team of professionals to serve high net worth clients with timely responses to their needs. Supervising associates and senior associates on all projects, reviewing their work, providing feedback, and training them in software tools.

Education and Experience Information:

- A Bachelor's degree is required, with a major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics preferred. A Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation is also preferred.

- The candidate must have eight or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services experience. Specifically, experience with individual, estate, trust, partnership, S-corporation, and private foundation tax/consulting clients is required.

- Prior supervisory experience is also required.

License/Certifications:

- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) or the equivalent of one of these designations is required. Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to the role is preferred.

Salary Information:

Individual salaries for candidates are determined after considering various factors, including qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. The salary ranges for different locations are as follows:

- California Range: $146,000 - $200,000
- Colorado Range: $120,000 - $185,000
- Illinois Range: $140,000 - $190,000
- Maryland Range: $152,000 - $188,000
- Minnesota Range: $130,000 - $190,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $175,000 - $205,000
- Washington Range: $150,000 - $200,000
- Washington DC Range: $156,000 - $200,000
