The Opportunity
- Seeking dedicated Assistant General Counsel for enterprise litigation team
- Responsible for providing legal counsel to business unit leadership by identifying and analyzing legal issues and providing effective advice
- Proactively engages with business clients to understand **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s strategic and operational objectives
- Works independently on significant matters for the organization
What You'll Do
- Provides legal counsel to support business objectives and mitigate risk
- Effectively communicates with stakeholders and leadership
- Monitors and analyzes changes in laws and regulations and advises leadership
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders and Chief Legal Office to mitigate risk
- Works with outside counsel or contract professionals
- May assist more senior attorneys and serves as a resource to less experienced team members
- Ensures risks are identified and controlled in accordance with policies and procedures
What You Have
- Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor degree from accredited schools
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in one state or territory
- 6 years of relevant experience with at least 4 years as a practicing attorney
- Ability to communicate legal advice effectively to business partners
What Sets You Apart
- 4 years of experience handling complex litigation, bad faith litigation, or in-house management involving personal lines insurance products and class actions
- Experience analyzing insurance claims handling practices and claim files for personal lines insurance products
- Proficiency with rules of civil procedure and evidence, e-discovery processes, and institutional document production and retention issues
- US military experience with skills related to JAG Corps Officer, Marines, Army, or Air Force
