**Job Title:**
Insurance Defense Attorney

**Job Responsibilities:**
As an Insurance Defense Attorney at the company, the primary responsibilities involve managing the entire legal process for moderately complex civil litigation matters. This includes:
- Representing clients in depositions, site inspections, court hearings, trials, etc., and negotiating settlements as required.
- Developing appropriate legal strategies for all stages of litigation and sharing them with claims representatives and insured clients.
- Establishing and maintaining good relationships with claims representatives and insured clients, and occasionally conducting training sessions for legal, claims, or other departments.
- Developing and rendering clear, unambiguous legal opinions and strategies, as well as drafting legal documents including pleadings and motions.
- Providing guidance and direction to junior attorneys, paralegals, or law clerks, while also having opportunities to interact and collaborate with the Home Office Legal team.

**Education and Experience Information:**
- Membership in the California Bar is required.
- Appropriate special licenses to practice before boards or federal courts are preferred.
- A minimum of three years of successful experience conducting discovery, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials is required.
- Experience representing insurance companies is necessary.
- A JD degree is required.

- Proficiency with technologies that reduce costs and facilitate the practice of law and remote work.

**Salary Information:**
- The minimum salary for this full-time position is USD $86, per year, with a maximum salary of USD $147, per year.
- The typical starting salary ranges from $100,000 to $115,000.
- The role includes benefits such as eligible performance bonuses, 20 days of flexible time off each year, personal holidays, a pension plan, and a 401(k) plan with matching contributions.
