A prestigious law firm is seeking a highly qualified Senior Associate to join its Environmental Transactions practice in Salt Lake City. This role focuses on managing environmental and energy-related matters across a variety of corporate and financing transactions. Location:

  • Salt Lake City, Utah

Duties:

  • Manage environmental due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, project financings, and other corporate transactions

  • Draft and negotiate environmental provisions in transaction and financing agreements

  • Prepare environmental disclosure language for SEC filings

  • Advise clients on environmental regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and restructuring matters

  • Conduct in-depth research and provide counsel on federal and state environmental laws

  • Collaborate with deal teams and clients to identify and address environmental risks in complex transactions

Requirements:

  • 6–8 years of experience in environmental and energy law

  • Significant background in corporate transactions and environmental regulatory counseling

  • Demonstrated experience working with environmental and energy matters in the context of mergers, acquisitions, and project financing

  • Deep knowledge of key federal and state environmental statutes

  • Strong understanding of energy sector operations and regulatory schemes

  • Ability to lead and manage transactional matters independently

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from a top-tier, accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in good standing in at least one . jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills

  • Expertise in environmental due diligence and risk assessment

  • Ability to translate complex legal and regulatory issues into practical business advice

  • High-level analytical, research, and writing abilities

  • Familiarity with SEC reporting and environmental disclosure requirements

  • Excellent communication and client advisory skills
