Tax Senior Manager - Private Client Services
Job Responsibilities:
Senior Managers in the Private Client Services practice at the company are responsible for overseeing multiple engagement teams for a diverse range of sophisticated clients. These clients may include some of the wealthiest families in the US, family offices, owner-operated business entities, alternative investment fund principals, trusts, and estates. The responsibilities of the Senior Manager include:
- Engaging in business development activities such as preparing proposals, presenting in webinars, and collaborating with other service lines to present comprehensive tax strategies to prospective and current clients.
- Maintaining communication with clients to ensure satisfaction, meet deadlines, stay updated on legislative changes, and lead change effectively.
- Conducting primary and secondary reviews of complex tax returns, including federal and state filings.
- Drafting technical tax memoranda.
- Supervising, training, mentoring, and evaluating Interns, Associates, and Senior Associates.
- Receiving formal Private Client Services (PCS) and on-the-job training through daily interactions with top tax leaders to learn more about legislative changes, wealth transfer techniques, charitable giving strategies, buy/sell agreement planning, and more.
Education and Experience Information:
- Applicants must have 6+ years of relevant work experience in an accounting firm, with at least 5 years of experience in Private Client services.
- A bachelor’s degree and/or an advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
- An advanced credential that allows for client representation before the Internal Revenue Service is required, such as a CPA or JD.
- Candidates should be self-starters with the initiative to seek out opportunities and the ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficient use of technology is required.
Salary Information:
For individuals hired to work in San Francisco, the expected salary range for this role is $160,000 to $253,900. The actual salary offer can vary based on employee qualifications. In addition to competitive base compensation, the company offers annual discretionary bonuses based on firm and individual performance. Other forms of discretionary compensation may also be offered to the hired applicant in addition to their established salary range scale.
