Litigation Attorney II – Case Management in Northern California
Job Summary:
The Litigation Attorney II will be responsible for managing all aspects of litigation cases, specifically in the field of medical malpractice. This individual should have a strong background in law, medicine, and experience in developing effective case strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work closely with trial and arbitration attorneys to develop discovery and investigation strategies
• Obtain approval from claims specialists for defense preparation and ensure cost-effective completion
• Prepare pleadings and respond to discovery requests
• Attend court appearances and assist in preparing lawsuits for trial or arbitration
• Prepare motions as requested
• Respond to inquiries from the Claims Department
• Prepare timely reports for claims at all stages of litigation
• Comply with Defense Attorney Guidelines
• Represent Member physicians at depositions in "Depo-only" cases
• Perform other duties as necessary
Education and Experience:
• . degree
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in medical malpractice litigation
• Trial/arbitration experience
Other Requirements:
• California law license
• Knowledge of medical issues
• Ability to support trial attorneys and assist as second chair in trials and arbitrations
Job Location:
This position will be based in Walnut Creek and surrounding areas.
Salary Information:
The starting salary range for this position is $135,000+. Actual salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
