Job Title:
Tax Manager, Specialized Tax Services Partnerships

Job Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on tax implications related to business objectives and partnership-specific items, including section 704(b) allocations, taxable income, capital account maintenance, liability analysis, section 734(b) and 743(b) adjustment calculations, and Tax Receivable Agreement (TRA) calculations.
- Apply knowledge and experience to identify potential partnership taxation issues and assist in preparation of partnership-specific computations.
- Participate actively in the leadership team of the STS Partnership Practice and contribute to the group's development.
- Engage in process improvement and team-building initiatives.
- Maintain client relationships and provide guidance to other team members.

Tax Specialization:
- Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of technical and practical issues regarding partnership taxation.

Research:
- Identify when research is required, clearly frame issues for research, and report analysis concisely.
- Identify complex issues for research by the engagement team and provide research methodology.
- Train associates and senior associates on research skills and framing tax issues for analysis.
- Involve firm specialists as appropriate.

Tax Consulting:
- Assist in developing, recommending, and implementing effective methods to maximize client benefits, especially by reducing current and future taxes.
- Apply tax knowledge and business/industry knowledge to recommend solutions.
- Manage client expectations and implement applicable firm strategies.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise associates and senior associates on all projects.
- Review work prepared by associates and senior associates, providing feedback.
- Train associates and senior associates on current software tools.
- Act as a career advisor to associates and senior associates.
- Schedule and manage workload of associates and senior associates.
- Provide verbal and written performance feedback to associates and senior associates.

Education and Experience Information:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics.
- Master's in Accountancy or Taxation preferred.

Experience:
- Five or more years of relevant tax experience and/or experience in public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services required.
- Specialized partnership experience required.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Private equity experience at both fund and portfolio company levels preferred.

License/Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) preferred.
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to the role preferred.

Software:
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
- Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software preferred.
