Job Overview:
A well-established mid-sized law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate or Partner to join its growing construction practice. This role involves handling complex construction-related legal disputes in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative and regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate will have strong research and writing skills, critical thinking abilities, and a collaborative approach to casework.

Location:

• Richmond, VA

Duties:

• Handle a wide range of construction-related litigation matters
• Represent clients in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative and regulatory bodies
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents
• Develop case strategies and provide legal counsel on construction disputes
• Manage discovery processes, including depositions and document review
• Engage in negotiations, mediations, and dispute resolution proceedings
• Collaborate with attorneys and legal teams to provide effective client representation

Requirements:

• 2-8 years of litigation experience, preferably in the construction industry
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to think critically and communicate effectively
• Experience handling legal disputes in various court and administrative settings
• Strong ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Virginia State Bar and in good standing

Skills:

• Expertise in construction law and litigation procedures
• Strong advocacy and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
• Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software
• Strong interpersonal and client relationship management skills
