Internship Goals:
1. Providing Real-World Litigation Experience:
- Assignments designed to give a preview of working as an attorney
- Projects that provide real-world work experience and teach transferable skills
- Opportunities to write trial and appellate briefs, conduct interviews, research questions of law, and more
- Networking opportunities with various attorneys, state offices, and judges
- Visits to federal and state courts, prisons, and crime laboratories
2. Securing Future Employment:
- Cultivate the best and brightest for future Assistant Attorney General positions
- Begin onboarding process early and create a stepping stone for full-time positions upon graduation
- Previous interns allowed to interview before and during third year of law school
- Potential for full-time positions upon graduation and admission to the Missouri Bar
3. Training the Next Generation:
- Valuing mentorship and feedback from experienced attorneys
- Assigning each intern a supervising attorney as a mentor and main point of contact
- Receiving guidance, advice, and encouragement throughout each project
- Continually updating and modifying the program to best fit the needs of students
- Encouraging intern feedback and evaluation of the program
How to Apply:
- Mostly focused on law student interns, but undergraduate internships may be available
- Internships available during summer, fall, and spring semesters
- Paid and/or can be used for school credit
- On-campus interviews at Missouri law schools and other law schools
