An established law firm is currently seeking a Lateral Associate Attorney with experience in technology transactions to join its Corporate Services Group. This role is best suited for attorneys with a background in commercial technology contracts, including licensing agreements, SaaS arrangements, and data privacy compliance. Duties

  • Handle strategic and high-level aspects of multiple legal matters across various stages

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of technology-related contracts

  • Provide legal counsel related to data privacy laws and compliance

  • Support mergers and acquisitions with a focus on IP and technology issues

  • Produce high-quality legal work and meet billing targets

  • Contribute to business development initiatives individually or within a team

  • Maintain compliance with ethical standards in the legal profession

  • Collaborate effectively with attorneys, clients, and support staff

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in technology contract law, including licensing and SaaS agreements

  • Experience with data privacy laws and policies

  • Familiarity with transactional work related to mergers and acquisitions

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Previous law firm experience is preferred

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing in at least one jurisdiction where the firm operates

  • Ongoing compliance with CLE and license renewal requirements
